MODULE 2 OF THE DISINFORMATION INFODEMIC MANAGEMENT AND HEALTH LITERACY PROGRAM

Being health literate means much more than simply understanding medical terminology. It means being able to find, evaluate, and use health information in everyday life in order to make informed decisions about one’s well-being. These are the skills at the heart of the second module of the Frame Health program, “Health Literacy for Empowered Communities.”

The training introduces participants to the core principles of health literacy and demonstrates how individuals can navigate healthcare systems more effectively, identify reliable sources of information, and communicate more clearly about health-related issues. Particular emphasis is placed on access to high-quality health information, patients’ rights within the European Union, and the role of prevention in maintaining good health.

The module also addresses some of the most widely debated health topics in society today, including vaccines, medical misinformation, and methods for assessing scientific evidence. Through real-life examples and practical case studies, participants learn how to distinguish facts from myths and build greater confidence when making health-related decisions.

The ultimate goal is not only to help people become better informed, but also to empower them to communicate more effectively with healthcare professionals, advocate for their rights as patients, and support their communities with reliable and accessible health information.
