On September 29, 2025, the international closing conference “Disinformation, Identity and Artificial Intelligence: The Power of Media and Information Literacy” was held at the Research Center of Sorbonne Nouvelle University in Paris. The event marked the conclusion of the GenderED Coalition Project, implemented with the support of the Creative Europe programme, and highlighted the successful partnership with the Algowatch project.
The conference brought together over 140 participants – both in person and online – including experts, activists, educators, and representatives of institutions from across Europe.
As a project partner, the Bureau for Integration and Social Innovation played a key role in showcasing the results. Denitsa Lozanova, Executive Director of the Bureau, took part in the panel dedicated to the achievements of the GenderED Coalition Project. She presented the eight media campaigns developed by the project’s partners, which reached over 10 million people online and contributed to advancing media and information literacy and building a more inclusive digital society.
Other panels featured experts and educators – including young Bulgarian teacher Avel Ivanov – who discussed the role of education, media, and policymaking in tackling disinformation and promoting gender equality in the digital environment.
The results and resources developed within the GenderED Coalition Project will remain available to teachers, students, organizations, and communities seeking to improve media literacy skills and build resilience against disinformation.
