{"id":2897,"date":"2026-02-26T15:29:40","date_gmt":"2026-02-26T15:29:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/b-isi.eu\/?p=2897"},"modified":"2026-02-26T15:32:03","modified_gmt":"2026-02-26T15:32:03","slug":"cities-at-the-forefront-of-integration","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/b-isi.eu\/?p=2897","title":{"rendered":"CITIES AT THE FOREFRONT OF INTEGRATION"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Twelve European cities &#8211; Athens (EL), Cluj (RO), Dortmund (DE), Fuenlabrada (ES), Ghent (BE), Gothenburg (SE), Lublin (PL), Milan (IT), Nantes (FR), Sofia (BG), represented by BISI, Vienna (AT), and Zagreb (HR) &#8211; came together in Brussels on 24\u201325 February 2026, alongside EUROCITIES and the European Network of Migrant Women.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The meeting provided a platform to exchange experiences on innovative policy pilots, foster mutual learning, and advance effective, future-proof integration strategies. The event forms part of the EU-funded CONSOLIDATE project, coordinated by EUROCITIES, which addresses the challenges posed by increasing migration and growing diversity across the European Union.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Project partners are organised into three Communities of Practice focusing on:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Employment<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>One-stop shops<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Housing<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Through the project, cities have received financial and technical support to design and test innovative local solutions in these areas. The pilot initiatives are diverse and practice-oriented. They range from on-the-job language and cultural orientation training programmes, to the development of interactive housing maps; from creating welcoming physical spaces for one-stop-shop services, to appointing dedicated gender integration and outreach coordinators.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Building on these experiences, partners have now begun translating their practical \u201chow-to\u201d knowledge into actionable guidance. These forthcoming guides aim to support other European cities in strengthening the efficiency, inclusiveness, and long-term impact of their integration policies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure
