Fifteen young activists and students took part in the Open Youth Health Literacy Lab, part of the Health-Lit project, which aims to combine information, education, and practice by providing young people with accessible and trustworthy health information in an engaging and reliable format.
During the lab, participants had the opportunity to engage in interactive activities such as health bingo and exercises for distinguishing genuine from manipulated health materials. They also reviewed and discussed the results of a sociological study on youth health literacy in Bulgaria, identifying key challenges and issues in this field.
In the final part of the event, the young participants developed concepts for information campaigns focused on improving mental health, enhancing health literacy, combating obesity, and reducing smoking.
The Health-Lit project is implemented by the Bureau for Integration and Social Innovation and co-funded by the European Union through the Erasmus+ Programme.
