Аn international MOOC (Massive Open Online Course) that trains participants to recognize and analyze content related to disinformation targeting gender identity and equality.
The course was developed as part of the GenderED Coalition project, in partnership with five organizations from four European countries, including two from Bulgaria—the Sofia Development Association and our Bureau for Integration and Social Innovations. The curriculum was designed and structured by the French organization Savoir Devenir, which includes Sorbonne-affiliated educators with expertise in media literacy and human rights education.A Critical Perspective on Media and an Engaged Practice
The MOOC is intended for a wide audience—journalists, educators, social and youth workers, activists, researchers, facilitators, and anyone who works with information or actively participates in public discourse. Its main goal is to develop key skills for critical thinking, ethical content creation, and inclusive communication.
The course is organized into four thematic modules, which participants can complete at their own pace. The topics include:
- Recognizing gender stereotypes and developing critical thinking
- Fostering empathy and intersectional understanding
- Creating gender-sensitive content
- Building networks and advocating against disinformation
Upon successful completion, participants receive a certificate issued by an international consortium of experts.
This course not only offers knowledge but also provides the opportunity to build a transnational community of professionals committed to gender equality, access to information, and sustainable media practices. Participants will explore real-world examples and practical tools applicable in their daily work.
