This week on 13-14 May, 2025 BISI hosted a partners meeting in Sofia. Discussions focused on project review and planning, highlighting milestones and key results reached by the end of the first project year. Partners from Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Italy, Germany and France shared insights about the future of civil society in Europe and the contribution of methodologies like foresight scenario building for boosting civic activism and contributing to the future policy agenda of the Union.
Alongside the meeting, BISI hosted a second citizen dialogue on the future of European policy-making and rethinking spaces for citizen participation, civic education and youth engagement. Nearly 30 participants joined the interactive event, brainstorming ideas and proposals on crucial issues that will dominate the public policy agenda in the next 20 years, debating the role of citizenship, the emergence of new democratic innovations and assessing the positives and negatives of digital technologies for a more inclusive, just, and equitable society.
The event was held within the Citizen Foresight EU project, which aims to promote citizen engagement and participation in shaping new visions for the future of Europe. The project seeks to strengthen democratic participation, foster unity across different segments of society, and uphold the values and rights associated with the principles of EU integration and citizenship.
