LEARNING FROM THE BEST: CONSOLIDATE PARTNERS COMING TO SOFIA FOR A FIRST PEER REVIEW VISIT

As the CONSOLIDATE project is moving forward, the first peer review visit to Sofia will take place this week, 13-15 November 2024.

Sofia Municipality and BISI are ready to welcome the partners from Eurocities, Milan, Athens, and Fuenlabrada for a round of visits, interviews and sharing good practices on the issue of migrant integration, with a focus on employment. The state-of-the-art approach to city integration policies and practices of Eurocities, the largest network of cities in the EU, hinges on strong peer-learning and sharing of good practices, against a robust benchmarking system. The visit will offer city officials an opportunity to share a local governance perspective on labor integration, outlining the barriers and drivers to successful whole-of-society interventions and integration pathways. Following the peer review, the project partners will propose a comprehensive set of recommendations to the city, aimed to overcome bottlenecks and introduce working solutions to migrant employment.

Next year BISI, the Bulgarian project partner, and Sofia Municipality will pilot initiatives to facilitate migrant employment, focusing on key factors such as political commitment and leadership, employer engagement, involvement of migrants in the design and implementation of employment trajectories.
