The kick-off meeting of the CONSOLIDATE project took place on May 28-29, 2024 in Brussels. Led by EUROCITIES, the project aims to establish communities of practice in three areas – housing, employment, and one-stop-shops, with cross-cutting themes on gender issues, data collection, and helping partner cities streamline their emergency response to migration into sustainable institutional policies and routines, to support the process of integration of refugees. Discussions during the meeting focused on the needs analysis and the involvement of migrants and migrant communities in the process of defining successful integration pathways. By the end of the project, cities in the communities of practice will run local pilots, testing the project approaches and coming up with benchmarks on standards and good practices in each of the three intergation areas.
The project is funded by the EU’s Asylum, Migration, and Integration Fund.
